American Camellia Yearbook, 1983, p.159, Reg. No.1901: A large, deep pink to red semi-double, C.japonica chance seedling, mid-season blooming. Originated by E. Ray Bond, Dallas, Texas, USA. The 9 year old seedling first bloomed 1974. Average flower size, 11 cm across x 3.2 cm deep with 14 petals and sharply contrasting and upright stamens. Plant growth is upright, dense and medium in rate with dark green leaves, 6 cm long x 4.5 cm wide. Sport: J. Stewart Howard Variegated.
