American Camellia Yearbook, 1960, p.199, Reg. No.466: A 9 year old chance seedling, originated by Mrs W.J. Beasley, that first bloomed 1954. Plant growth is upright and rapid with light green leaves, 10.5 cm x 4 cm. The deep, rose-red flowers, l l cm across x 7.5 cm deep, are incomplete double to loose semi-double with 22 petals and numerous petaloids. Short, yellow stamens are mixed with the petaloids. Flower early to mid-season.
