Jijie Secai

Jijie Secai (C. azalea × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.19. HA-01-13., a cross seedling (DK-No.15) of C. azalea × C. japonica 'Kramer's Supreme'. Flowers light red in hot season and bright red in cold season, occasionally with white stripes on the back surfaces of petals, single form, medium size, 8.5-10.0cm across with 5-6 petals, petals wavy, the surfaces crinkled, stamens columnar, filaments pale red, anthers yellow. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, broad elliptic, midrib raised, margins obtusely serrate at the upper part. Plant compact, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Seasonal Colors”.
