Jinfei Erhao

Jinfei Erhao (C. nitidissima). China Regn. #2021-340. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2021, No.6, p.52. This cultivar was bred and registered by Huang Zhanwen, Li Mingjuan, Lu Jiashi, etc.in Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Plant upright, up to 6 meters, growing vigorously. Young shoots reddish brown, old branches dark green; Leaves dark green, leathery,glossy and flat. The leaves are elliptic, the base of the leaf is round,the apex caudate acute, the edge of the leaf is thick serrated. The leaves are big and thick, 11.0-13.6cm long,5.5-7.3cm wide. The flowers are golden yellow, semi-double,petals 12-14; The stamens are golden yellow, tube-shaped. Buds purplish red. The flowers are big,its diameter up to 5.4-8.5cm. The average weight of a single flower is 9.63g; The flowering period is from late December to early March of the following year. Camellia nitidissima‘Jinfei Erhao’was selected from the bud mutations of the Camellia nitidissima Chi,Its flowers are much bigger than the parent’s,and its leaves are big and thick,witch make it looked more beautiful.

金妃二号 Camellia nitidissima‘Jinfei Erhao’ 中国茶花登录号：2021-340。《中国花卉园艺》2021年第6期52页。本品种由广西农业科学院花卉研究所黄展文、李明娟、卢家仕等培育并登录。 “金妃二号”为常绿灌木至小乔木，生长直立，树高可达6m，枝叶繁密，嫩枝呈红褐色，老枝呈深绿色；叶色深绿，革质，有光泽，叶面平坦；叶型卵状椭圆形，基部圆形，先端尾状急尖，叶缘粗锯齿状，叶大且厚，叶长11.0-13.6cm，宽5.5-7.3cm；花色金黄，半重瓣型，花瓣12-14枚；雄蕊金黄色，筒型排列，花柱3条，花蕾呈紫红色；花朵较大，直径5.4-8.5cm，单朵平均重达9.63g；花期12月底至次年3月初。“金妃二号”是从“防城金花茶”无性繁殖后代选育出的一个新品种，其花朵较防城金花茶更大，其叶片大而厚，观赏性更佳。
