Jinfei Sanhao

Jinfei Sanhao (C. nitidissima). China Regn. #2021-341. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2021, No.6, p.52. This cultivar was bred and registered by Huang Zhanwen, Lu Jiashi, Li Chunniu, etc.in Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This cultivar is for the the evergreen shrub or small tree plants, Plant upright or half-open,up to 3-5m tall. Tender branches are pale violet red,while the old branches are green. The leaves are green, leathery and flat. The leaves are elliptic or oblong-elliptic lanceolate, the base of the leaf is wedge-shaped, the apex caudate acuminate or acute., the edge of the leaf is serrated,12.0-16.2cm long,4.1-5.8cm wide.Flowers are small, diameter 2.8-4.2cm,single petal or semi-double type. Petals and stamens are faint yellow, while the filaments are white to pale yellow. The flowering period is from late December to early March of the following year. This cultivar was selected from the bud mutations of the Camellia nitidissima Chi. It is characterized by small and numerous flowers,and the flowers are very different from the parent’s. This cultivar has good ornamental value.

金妃三号 Camellia nitidissima‘Jinfei Sanhao’ 中国茶花登录号：2021-341。《中国花卉园艺》2021年第6期52页。本品种由广西农业科学院花卉研究所黄展文、李明娟、卢家仕等培育并登录。常绿灌木或小乔木，树高可达3-5m，树形直立或开张；嫩枝呈淡紫红色，老枝呈绿色；老叶绿色，革质，叶面平坦；叶型椭圆形或长椭圆状披针形，基部楔形，先端尾状渐尖或急尖，叶缘细齿状，叶长12.0-16.2cm，宽4.1-5.8cm；花小型，直径2.8-4.2cm，单瓣至半重瓣型，颜色淡黄，雄蕊淡黄色，花丝白色至淡黄色，花期12月底至次年3月初。“金妃三号”是从“防城金花茶”无性繁殖后代选育出的一个新品种，其特点是花小而多，花色淡黄，雄蕊淡黄色，花丝白色至淡黄色，与其亲本“防城金花茶”差异明显，观赏性佳。
