Jiri Liangchen

Jiri Liangchen (C. azalea × C. reticulata hybrid 'Fenglu'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.91. HA-43-4., a cross seedling (DFL-No.13) of C. azalea × C. reticulata hybrid 'Fenglu'. Flowers lightly peach red with pink-white at the upper part of the petals, and gradually changing into pink, semi-double to peony form, large size, 11.5-13.0cm across and 5.5cm deep with 20- 25 large petals arranged in 3-4 rows, petals broad obovate, thick texture, stamens clustered and mixed with small petals at the center. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, elliptic, margins obtusely serrate at the upper part. Plant spread and grov/th vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Auspicious Day”.
