Jiuqu fenyan

Jiuqu fenyan (C. edithae). China Regn. #2020-314. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.12, p.58.. This cultivar was bred by Han Guoyong of Fuzhou Botanical Garden, a sport of Camellia edithae ‘Mainland Jiuqu’ in 2013. Flower light pink (RHS 49 A), the edge of the petals slightly white, formal double, small flower, flower diameter 6.0～7.0cm, 35～45 petals, imbricate inward, obovate, obvious along the petal midline, apex slightly concave, and needle-shaped. Leaf  very similar to the original plant of Camellia edithae with a pointed calyx, green, the underside of the leaf is villi, the leaf surface is rough, the main and lateral veins concave, thick leathery, oblong, 6.5～7.5cm long, 3.0～4.5cm wide, apex acuminate , leaf base heart-shaped, and the edge leaf teeth finely pointed. The plant is open, plump, and growing vigorously. Flowering period from mid-March to mid-to-late April.

九曲粉颜 Camellia  edithae 'Jiuqu fenyan' 中国茶花登录号：2020-314。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第12期58页。本品种由福州植物园韩国勇培育，是2013年从开红花的尖萼红山茶品系中的‘大陆九曲’品种植株上发现此粉花的变异。花朵浅粉红色（49 A），花瓣边缘略显白色，完全重瓣型，小型花，花径6.0～7.0cm，花瓣35～45枚，覆瓦状内扣，倒卵形，沿瓣中线明显，先端微凹，并可见针状芒尖。叶片与尖萼红山茶相似，绿色，叶背面被绒毛，叶面粗糙，主脉和侧脉凹，厚革质，长椭圆形，长6.5～7.5cm，宽3.0～4.5cm，先端渐尖,基部心形，边缘叶齿细尖。植株开张，丰满，生长旺盛。花期3月中旬～4月中下旬。
