Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.41 as Kisyūtsukasa; Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, pp.396, 397: Leaves narrowly elliptic, cuneate at base, apex long acuminate, margins manifestly serrate, green to yellowish green, flat, impressed venation. Vigorous, compact, upright growth. Flowers formal double, flat, rose (Rose Opal 022/1), spotted or marbled white, particularly on the outer petals. Petals broadly emarginate, incurved. Late flowering. This cultivar was originally self coloured but apparently has become virus infected as all colour photos taken since 1960 show white var­iegation. Different readings: ‘Kiskū-tsukasa’, ‘Kishuh-tsukasa’. Corruption of name: ‘Kishitsukasa’, ‘Kisho-tsukasa’, ‘Hishutsukasa’, ‘Kitsutsagas’, ‘Kitsutsutkasa’, ‘Kishiu-tsukasa’. Synonyms: ‘Admiral Nimitz’, ‘Admiral Nimitz Variegated’, ‘Captain John Sutter’, ‘Silvery Pink’, ‘Silver Pink’. Originated in Takarazuka City, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. A number of large trees of this cultivar are also found in the Wakayama Prefecture.

紀州司きしゅうつかさ'Kishū-tsukasa'C. japonica),陈丽惠2013年《山茶花谱台湾情》第176页,【花】:粉、白斑,重瓣、大轮、中~晩花。 【葉】長橢圓、大型、黃綠色。橫張性、 強。宝塚市生產地栽培,原為Captain John Sutter,日本引入後另命名之。

朱國棟、蔡燦玉,2011. 《台灣茶花族譜》,p.151. 纪州司(Lord of the Kii Province)。(C. japonica)红山茶。1934,日本兵库县宝冢市。来历不明种。完全形、桃红色、白斑、中〜大轮(9 x 10cm)、花期3月,树性横张、长势强 。同种异名:Admiral NimitzAdmiral Nimitz VariegatedCaptain John SutterHuaheling (花鹤翎)、Silvery Pink 。中国浙江温州产的'花鹤翎'(Huaheling)(1981),同样是外来输入的不明种,与日本的'纪州司'为相同的品种,基于文献纪录的前后,本文将'花鹤翎'列为别名。
