ACS., Quarterly, 1951, 6(2):8, Reg. No.115: A 13 year old seedling of unknown parentage. First flowered 1943. Originated by Riverbank Camellia Nursery, Riverbank, California, USA. Introduced by them in 1948. Type of growth is compact with dark green foliage. Buds lightly as a young plant; will stand more sunshine and heat than most varieties. Flower buds round. Fragrant. Sometimes some of the petaloids are purple. Flower is incomplete double with small petaloids. Colour brick red (5-E-6, Maerz & Paul Chart) Size, 8.5-10.5 cm across. Blooms mid-season. ACS, Reg.
