New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1967, vol.V, No.3, p.10, Reg. No.37: A chance seedling of C.reticulata ‘Purple Gown’, (Zipao) which first bloomed 1964. Originated by H.J. Clark, New Lynn, New Zealand. The plant has an upright, dense habit of growth with mid­-green, reticulate leaves, 9 cm long x 4.5 cm wide. The flower is a rose form double with 15 or more petals and some petaloids.
