Andoh, 1971, Tsubaki, Meika no Shōkai to Saibai, p.213 as ‘Maio­ōgi’: Small size, campanulate single of 5 petals, blush ground with a fine peppering of red and occasional streaks. A compact, central cylinder of stamens with yellow anthers and pale cream filaments. A seedling of Shūfūraku. Originated by Sakuragi, Shun’ichi in 1970.
