Chūbu Tsubaki Kyōkai, 1931, Tsubaki Meikan: Medium size, white, single flower. Watanabe, 1960, Kyōto Engei Kurabu, Tsubaki Tokushū, No.1, p.59. Originated in the Chūbu area, Japan. Note: This is famous for the legend of Hagoromo and refers to the pine on which the celestial maiden hung her robe, and is a scenic place with a beautiful pine forest.
