Mini Yaoji

Mini Yaoji (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiangxia Hongjiao'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.313. HAR-12-1., a cross seedling (DHL-No.1) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiangxia Hongjiao'. Flowers light pink to pink, fading to pink-white at the center, formal double form, miniature to small size, 5.0-6.3cm across and 4.2-4.5cm deep with 45-55 petals arranged tightly in over 10 rows, petals long obovate, bloom dense. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, broad obovate, dense, leaf intemode short, apices nearly round which are like C. azalea, urgently cuneate at the base, margins smooth. Plant compact, bushy and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Miniature Pretty Yaoji”.

迷你瑶姬 Camellia ‘Mini Yaoji’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第313页。 HAR-12-1.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏梦华林’，杂交苗编号：DHL-No.1。花朵淡粉红色至粉红色，渐向花芯呈粉白色，完全重瓣型，微型至小型花，花径5.0-6.3cm,花朵厚4.2-4.5cm,花瓣45-55枚，呈10轮以上紧实排列，花瓣长倒卵形，开花稠密。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，厚革质，阔倒卵圆形，稠密，节间短，长8.0-8.5cm，宽4.0-4.5cm，先端近圆形，颇像杜鹃红山茶，基部急楔形，边缘光滑。植株紧凑，灌丛状，生长旺盛。夏初始花，秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
