Mirenhong

Mirenhong (C. japonica 'Tama Beauty' × C. japonica 'Mark Alan'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.499. HC-20-4., a cross seedling (MA-No.1A) of C. japonica 'Tama Beauty' × C. japonica 'Mark Alan'. Flowers dark red with purple hue and occasionally with a few white spots, formal double form, medium size, 8.5-10.0cm across and 4.5cm deep with 40-50 petals arranged imbricately and tightly in 6 rows, petals obovate, turned outward. Leaves normal green, leathery, elliptic, margins densely and finely serrate. Plant spread, bushy and growth vigorous. Blooms from winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Charming Red”.
