New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1972, vol.VII, No.6, p.33, Reg. No.67: A seedling of C.reticulata ‘Cornelian’ (Damanao) x ‘Crimson Robe’ (Dataohong) originated by D.G. O’Toole, Ohope, New Zealand, that first flowered, 1970. The plant is upright with dark green leaves, 11 cm x 5 cm. The flower is semi-double with up to 23 petals and occasional petaloids, anthers golden, filaments cream, size, 15 cm across x 8 cm deep. The colour is a vivid cherry-red. Blooms mid-season.
