American Camellia Yearbook, 1959, p.278, Reg. No.366: A 5 year old chance seedling C.sasanqua; originated by Henry B. Rehder, Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, which first bloomed 1956. Plant growth is rapid, upright and open with dark green leaves, 6 cm long x 2.5 cm wide. The rose-pink flowers, with pink tipped, yellow stamens, average 6 cm across x 2.5 cm deep, semi-double. The flowers open with a tight bud and then become fully blown. Early flowering.
