For colour pl. see Verschaffelt, 1851, Nouvelle Iconographie, Book VIII, pl.I: Regularly imbricated; a delicate roseate white, fasciated with bright pink, with rounded petals, whole or slightly bilobate at apex, the centre a full heart, serried and upright. Originated in Italy as a seedling raised by Negri according to Rovelli. 1852. Orthographic errors: ‘Romaniana’, ‘Romanensis’.
