Ruhua Mengjing

Ruhua Mengjing (C. japonica 'Tama Peacock' × C. azalea). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.196. HA-81-1., a cross seedling (KQYPD-No.3) of C. japonica 'Tama Peacock' × C. azalea. Flowers red with a wide white border on each petal, rose-double form, small size, 6.0- 7.0cm across and 3.5cm deep with 19-22 petals arranged orderly in 4 rows, petals broad obovate, a few stamens, slightly united at the base. Leaves dark green, leathery, broad elliptic, cuneate at the base, margins shallowly serrate. Plant compact, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-autumn, fully blooms in winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Picturesque Dream”.
