Mengjing

Mengjing (C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica ' All American'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.470. HB-27-4., a cross seedling (BQM-No.7) of C. amplexicaulis × C. japonica ' All American'. Flowers deep pink to light red, semi-double form, medium size, 9.0-9.5cm across and 4.5- 5.0cm deep with 17-19 thick petals arranged in 3-4 rows, petals broad obovate, stamens united at the base, bloom dense. Leaves normal green, tender leaves slightly red, broad elliptic, veins sunken, margins finely serrate. Plant spread, branches and leaves dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from early-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Dream Scene”.
