» English Description

Overlook Nurseries Catalogue, 1949 as ‘Shiro-Botan’: White. Medium, semi-double to loose peony form. Unique with its cup and saucer form before fully opening. Vigorous growth. Mid-season flowering. Originated from seed from Japan planted 1931 by K. Sawada, Mobile, Alabama, USA. The different reading Hakubotan is reserved for the old Japanese cultivar, Itō, Ko’emon, 1879, Chinkashū. Synonym: ‘Wonder Grow’. Corruption of name: ‘Shirabothian’. Has been erroneously equated with Yukibotan.

Shirobotan 白牡丹(White Peony)(C. japonica)红山茶。1949,美国Overlook种苗园。半重瓣~松牡丹形、白色、中轮、花期1~2月。1931年,美国亚拉巴马州,MobileK. Sawada先生从日本引入种子实生选出。此一命名与日本古品种Hakubotan(白牡丹)(1879)有所区别。同种异名:Wonder Grow
