American Camellia Yearbook, 1972, p.136, Reg. No.1202: A 9 year old chance reticulata seedling that first bloomed in 1964; originated by Frank Maitland, Sylmar, California, USA. Plant growth is upright and rapid with dark green leaves, 7.5 cm long x 2.5 cm wide. The semi-double, orange-red blooms measure 13-15 cm across and open mid-season to late. Sport: Sunset Variegated.
