A scion was sent from Hongkong to USA from a seedling. See colour pl. facing p.118. Originated by Dr Lee Chan Wong, Hong Kong, China. American Camellia Yearbook, 1972, Reg. No.1164, p136: A 6-year-old chance japonica seedling that first bloomed in 1967, originated by Dr. Lee Chan Wong, Hong Kong, China; and propagated by Wilmer Stewart, Savannah, Ga. Plant growth is average and medium in rate with dark green leaves measuring 3½ inches in length and 1½ inches in width. The peony form bloom is light to medium salmon pink with yellow anthers and pink filaments. Measures 53 /4 inches in diameter and 4 inches in depth with 48 petals and 15 petaloids. Blooms midseason and has extremely beautiful texture with good lasting quality.
