Weimei

Weimei (C. japonica 'Tama Beauty' × C. reticulata 'Massee Lane'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.508. HC-10-7., a cross seedling (MLS-Mu，N0.6B + 7B) of C. japonica 'Tama Beauty' × C. reticulata 'Massee Lane'. It is a mutation from ‘Fenglu’（See p.504-505, our first book). Flowers light purple red with white borders of varying widths, semi-double to rose-double form, medium size, 8.5-9.5cm across and 5.0cm deep with 40-55 petals arranged orderly in 7-8 rows, petals obovate, rolled inward, apices nearly round, central petaloids twisted and mixed with stamens. Leaves green, shiny, leathery, elliptic, margins densely serrate. Plant spread, dwarf and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Only Beauty”.

唯美 Camellia ‘Weimei’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第508页。 HC-10-7.杂交组合：红山茶品种‘媚丽’× 红山茶品种‘山茶之都’，杂交苗编号：MLS-Mu，N0.6B + 7B。该品种是‘蜂露’品种（见第一部书第504-505页）的一个突变。花朵浅紫红色，花瓣边缘具宽窄不等的白边，半重瓣型至玫瑰重瓣型，中型花，花径8.5-9.5cm,花朵厚5.0cm,花瓣40-55枚，呈7-8轮有序排列，花瓣倒卵形，内扣，先端近圆形，中部雄蕊瓣扭曲，与雄蕊混生。叶片绿色，光亮，革质，椭圆形，长11.0-12.5cm，宽4.5-5.5cm，偶有白斑，叶齿密。植株开张，矮性，生长旺盛。冬末至翌年春季开花。
