Overlook Nursery Catalogue, 1939-1940, p.25: White, edged pink. Single centre petals give the appearance of white butterflies. Medium, compact, upright growth. Originated at Overlook Nursery, Crichton, Alabama, USA. ACS, Reg. No. . American Camellia Yearbook, 1954. p336:Date of application-March 16, 1950. A 20-year-old seedling (Duchess of Sutherland X Leucantha) grown by J. S. Bradford, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, that first flowered in 1939. Plant growth pyramidal, compact, slow. Leaves small, serrated, dull green. Flower buds round, light green and open slowly. Flowers 3 to 3½ inches in diameter, incomplete double with small petaloids, 35 to 50 petals. Flower color self white. Flowering season November through February.
