This 9-year-old C. hiemalis ‘Kanjiro’ color sport first bloomed in 2007. It was originated and registered by Glenn Read of Lucedale, Mississippi, USA and propagated by Glenn Read Camellia Nursery of Lucedale, Mississippi, USA. Bloom: The small to medium sized 7.6cm x 2.5cm semi-double form flower is pale lavender. It has yellow anthers and yellow filaments. This profuse bloomer has consistent form. The pale lavender blooms have darker purplish pink shading towards the center. Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping use. Leaf: The medium green leaves have low serration and average 4.4cm x 2.5cm. Bloom season: Early to midseason.
