Wufu Linmen

Wufu Linmen (Non-reticulata hybrid 'Dragon Fireball'×C. azalea). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.160. HA-68-1., a cross seedling (LHZD-No.1) of Non-reticulata hybrid 'Dragon Fireball'×C. azalea. Flowers bright red, occasionally with white markings on the central small petals, anemone to peony form, small to medium size, 7.0-8.0cm across and 4.0cm deep with 9-12 exterior large petals arranged in 1-2 rows, petals broad obovate, tips nearly round, central small petals and petaloids wrinkled or wavy, mixed with stamens into a ball. Leaves dark green, leathery, broad elliptic, margins obtusely serrate. Plant upright and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom in late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Five Blessings Arriving at Home”.
