[Variety Number] Non-major Crop Variety Registration No. GPD Tea Tree (2024) 450008. [Variety Source] Selected from a single plant of Guangxi 'Nanshan Baimao Cha' by Guangxi South Subtropical Agricultural Science Research Institute. [Characteristics and properties] Small tree type, large leaves, early species. The tree posture is semi-open, strong growth potential, branching part in, branching dense. The leaf blade is horizontally inserted, narrowly elliptic, 11.7 centimeters long, 3.6 centimeters wide, the leaf color is medium green, and the apex is sharp. In the Longzhou area of Guangxi, the exploitation period is generally in early March, and the one bud and two leaves bloom period is generally in mid-March. The germination density is high, with many hairs; the length of one bud and three leaves is 10.4 centimeters, and the weight of one bud and three leaves is 107.9 grams. The bloom period is in the second half of December every year. Spring tea bud two leaves biochemical samples containing tea polyacids 25.8%, amino acids 3.4%, caffeine 3.4%, water leachate 53.2%. Suitable for green tea. Baked green tea, the appearance of tightly slightly curled, brown-green hair, soup color light tender yellow-green still bright, high aroma, sweet chestnut aroma, taste sweet and slightly astringent, the bottom of the leaf is soft and even with buds, yellow-green. The first growth cycle mu yield of one bud and two leaves 359 kg of fresh leaves, 6% higher than the control 'Fuding Dahaocha'; the second growth cycle mu yield 596 kg, 6% higher than the control 'Fuding Dahaocha'. It is highly resistant to anthracnose, susceptible to small green leafhopper, moderately drought-resistant, and highly cold-resistant. [Suitable for planting area and cultivation technology] Suitable for planting in winter and spring in Guangxi with an average annual temperature of 20˚C, a minimum temperature of not less than -2˚C, a frost-free period of 350 days, and an average annual precipitation of about 1500 millimeters. Choose deep soil, organic matter-rich soil for cultivation, double rows of single-plant “zigzag” planting, mu planting about 4000 plants. Appropriate application of organic fertilizer, timely shaping pruning, batch leaf picking, picking and raising combination. Pay attention to the small green leafhopper control.
