Itō, Ihei, 1695, Kadan Chikinchō, vol.1: A medium size camellia, dark red with white spots or dark pink semi-double with central divide stamens. Thought to be synonym for Asukagawa in 1789, Shoshiki Hanagatachō and 1859, Tsubaki Iro­hanayose Irotsuki. (Believed extinct.) Originated in Japan.
