[History] In the early Showa era, Jinno Hirano selected him from his own Uji traditional tea garden, and in 1954, passed a candidate primary tree performance comparison test (strain comparison test) at the Kyoto Prefectural Tea Research Institute. Registered. The old strain name is "Hirano No. 11," and the name of this variety is called "J with no brilliance, J like Asahi," "Refreshing J," or "pure green."

[Rooting of cuttings] It is a little defective because it is uneven, and it is inferior to'Yabukita'. At the cuttings, adventitious cells near the cut end tend to clump. Care must be taken when adjusting the cutting soil and water management. When properly managed, aboveground growth is vigorous.

[Good quality of initial growth] Good quality and early growth. Although the vigor of young trees is strong, uneven growth is likely to occur, so careful cultivation management is desired.

[Layering method] It is a natural variety and hand-picked variety that is pruned by conventional means.

[Yield] The yield is slightly low to medium because the difference easily occurs depending on the growth. However, it is possible to increase the yield close to that of'Yabukita' under good cultivation conditions.

[Quality] The quality of tea production is particularly excellent as tea. The appearance is bright green, well-stained, crisp, and soft. The inner quality has a mellow aroma and fragrance that impresses with excellent dignity.

[Cold resistance] Strong against red and blue withers and grows well even in cool mountain areas. However, since buds and sprouts before and after the germination stage are sensitive to low temperature, measures against frost frost are essential. 0 Pest resistance • Middle anthrax disease, slightly weak to ring spot disease.

[Suitable for cultivation] A soil with good air permeability and water permeability is desirable because it is vulnerable to overhumidity and leaves are easily yellowed, which is a symptom of stagnant growth and iron deficiency. Since buds and sprouts before and after the germination period are sensitive to low temperatures, it is better to avoid areas where frost damage is common. Since it is highly sensitive to shading and fertilization, it may cause growth inhibition. Avoid strong shading and excessive fertilization from the juvenile stage. Also, in order to prevent frost damage on the tops of the shoots and winter buds, fertilization should not be continued until the early autumn and early winter.

[Processing characteristics] Be careful not to steam too much, as the new leaves are thin, especially under shading.

【育成者】宇治市•平野甚之丞，京都府立茶葉研究所

【来歴】昭和初期に，平野甚之丞により自園である宇治在来種茶園から選抜され，京都府立茶業研究所において候補原樹性能比較試験(系統比較試験)を経て，1954年に育成登録された。旧系統名は‘平野11号、本品種の名称は，「まざりけがないJ,朝日のように「さわやかJ，「純粋な緑」という意味を户ハといわれる。

【早晩性】萌芽期は‘やぶきた’より4日程度早ノ摘採期は‘やぶきた’より1日早い〜同じ中生種【形態的特性】樹姿は直立型，樹勢および株張りは中である。新葉は，楕円形，やや大，やや薄，緑色。成葉は，楕円形，大，やや薄，緑色，光沢が多。遮光下の新芽は光沢に富み，柔軟である。新芽の伸長角度が鈍角であることから摘採効率が悪ぐ機械摘み仕立てには不向きである0

【挿し木発根性】不揃いであるためやや不良で，‘やぶきた’よりも劣る。挿し穂は，切り口付近の不定細胞が塊状になりやすく.挿し木用土の調整や水管理に注意を要する。適切に管理された場合は，地上部の生育が旺盛である。

【初期生育の良否】良好で早期に成園になる。幼木期の樹勢は強いが，生育の不揃いが生じやすいため，周到な栽培管理が望まれる。

【幼木の仕立て法】自然仕立て，手摘み用の品種であり，慣行の剪枝が行なわれる

【収量性】生育により差が生じやすいことから，収量性はやや少〜中。ただし，良好な栽培条件下では‘やぶきた’に近い収量をあげることもできる。

【品質】製茶品質は，碾茶として特に優秀である。外観は，鮮緑色で染まりが良く，冴えがあり，柔らかな感触である。内質は，優れた品格を印象づける芳香とまろやかな滋味を備える。

【耐寒性】赤枯れ，青枯れに強く山間冷涼地帯でも生育がよい。ただし，萌芽期前後の芽と新芽は低温に敏感なため，晚霜対策は必須である0耐病虫性••炭疽病に中，輪斑病にやや弱。

【栽培適地】過湿に弱く，生育の停滞や鉄欠乏の症状である葉の黄化が現われやすいため，通気性と透水性の良好な土壌が望ましい。萌芽期前後の芽や新芽は低温に敏感なので，晚霜害の常襲地は避けたほうがよい。遮光や施肥に対する感応性が高く，生育阻害を招くおそれがあるので.幼木期からの強い遮光や多肥を避ける。また，枝条の頂部や越冬芽の凍霜害を防ぐために，肥効が晚秋〜初冬まで続かないようにする。

【加工特性】特に遮光下では新葉が薄いことから,蒸しすぎないように注意する。
