Beatrice Bisiach (C. japonica), ACS, Reg. No.2561. American Camellia Yearbook, 2001,p93, colour photo p.c13. This 20-year-old chance C. japonica : seedling first bloomed in1995 and originated by G. B. Bertolazziof Ghiffa, Italy and propagated by Hillebrand of Pallanza, Italy. Bloom:The carmine red (RHS# 46A) splashed with white rose form double flower hasyellow stamens and white filaments. Flowers measure 5 x 3 inches with 14petals. Plants: The plant is slow growing and spreading with landscapepossibilities. Three-month profuse blooming early in season. Blooms show heavypetal texture, are long lasting, unique and have consistent form. Leaf: Darkgreen leaves are 3-4 x 1.5-2 cm.
