Chiba-goshiki-tsubaki

Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.164 with colour photo; English translation p.113. Medium size, white, pale pink, purplish red, red stripes on pale red, etc., blooming on one tree. Single with tubular stamens. Flowers mid-season to late. Leaves elliptic, medium size. Spreading, vigorous growth. A natural seedling found on the Shimofusa Plain. Named and released by Kan Utsugi in 1985. From Chiba Prefecture.
