International Camellia Journal, 2016, p.130. ‘Christine Hammond’ (C. japonica), European Reg. No. 118. Open-pollinated seed from unknown parents. Originated in the U.K. by David Hammond, of Gravesend, Kent. Bushy habit, slow growth rate. Flowers mid-season, over five months; very floriferous; spent blooms fall whole. A medium-sized peony form, bright pink bloom, with long pointed dahlia-like petals; some stamens within centre of bloom, with cream anthers and filaments. Leaves dark green, pointed, flat & serrated edges. Flower buds elongated/oval, green and pink. First bloomed 2011. Named for the wife of registrant/originator.
