New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1974, vol.VIII, No.6, P.46, 47, Reg. No.91: A chance seedling of ‘Crimson Robe’, (Dataohong), originated by Mrs E.D. Clark, Matamata, New Zealand. It first flowered 1971. Plant growth is upright and well furnished with mid­green foliage, 11 cm long x 4.5 cm wide, sharply serrate. The flowers are large, 15 cm across x 7 cm deep, with 16-20 petals, semi-double with golden anthers on cream filaments. Colour is deep, clear pink, RHS.CC. Red Group 53A. Flowers early to late.
