New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1974, vol.VIII, No.6, P.46, 47, Reg. No.91: A chance seedling of ‘Crimson Robe’, (Dataohong), originated by Mrs E.D. Clark, Matamata, New Zealand. It first flowered 1971. Plant growth is upright and well furnished with midgreen foliage, 11 cm long x 4.5 cm wide, sharply serrate. The flowers are large, 15 cm across x 7 cm deep, with 16-20 petals, semi-double with golden anthers on cream filaments. Colour is deep, clear pink, RHS.CC. Red Group 53A. Flowers early to late.
