Duoji Hongguan

Duoji Hongguan (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiameng Wenqing'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.370. HAR-18-10., a cross seedling (DWQ-No.24) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiameng Wenqing'. Flowers bright red, some vertical and faint white stripes on the mid-part of the petal surfaces, rose-double form, large to very large size, 11.0-13.5cm across and 5.0-5.5cm deep with 28-31 large petals arranged in more than 6 rows, petals long obovate. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, long elliptic, midrib raised, lateral veins blurry, cuneate at the base, margins shallowly serrate. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Multiseasonal Red Crown”.

多季红冠 Camellia ‘Duoji Hongguan’。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第370页。 HAR-18-10.杂交组合：杜鹃红山茶×杜鹃红山茶F1代新品种‘夏梦文清’，杂交苗编号：DWQ-No.24。花朵艳红色，花瓣中部隐约有纵向的白条纹，玫瑰重瓣型，大型至巨型花，花径11.0-13.5cm，花朵厚5.0-5.5cm,大花瓣28-31枚，呈6轮以上有序排列，花瓣长倒卵形，中部沟槽状，中部小花瓣12枚以上，完全开放后与少量雄蕊混生。叶片浓绿色，叶背面灰绿色，厚革质，中脉凸起，侧脉模糊，长椭圆形，长11.0-12.0cm,宽4.0-4.2cm,基部楔形，边缘齿浅。植株立性，枝叶稠密，生长旺盛。夏初始花，秋、冬季盛花，春季零星开花，花期可延长至4月底。
