American Camellia Yearbook, 1970, p.163, Reg. No.1109: A 5 year old seedling that first bloomed 1966. Seed parent is ‘Lady Campbell Mahogany’ and pollen parent ‘Joe Reuther’. Originated by Joseph C. Reuther, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Plant growth is spreading and rapid with dark green leaves, 8.5 cm long x 4 cm wide. The anemone form flower averages 11 cm across x 6 cm deep with 37 petals and 95 petaloids. Colour is dark red with dark purple veins, yellow anthers and white filaments. Flowers early to mid-season.
