Gayle Beardon. (C.japonica). ACS Journal, June 2014, p.133 with colour photo; Regn No.2916. Originated by Vi & Hank Sone, Baton Rouge, La., USA. ACS Yearbook 2014, p.133 with colour photo; A 35 year old seedling, parentage unknown, registered by Robert Stroud, Slidell, La., and propagated by Jim Campbell, Covington La. Large size, 11.5 cm diameter x 7.5 cm deep flower is vibrant red, and semidouble to loose peony to anemone form, with some petal fimbriation. Gold anthers and gold filaments. Flowers fall whole. Plant is upright, spreading and vigorous. Dark green leaves average 6.5 cm x 3.2 cm with low serration. Flowers mid-season to late.
