Originated in Italy by Delgrande, Rome. There has been confusion in America where two other camellias were distributed under the same name so that the names Imperator (France), and Imperator (US) are used to distinguish them. Orthographic error: 'Imperatore'. Synonyms: 'Corrie Belle', 'Imperator' (France), 'Big Daddy'. Sport: Imperator Variegated.
