Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.99 with colour photo; English translation p.67. Small sake cup-shaped single, with large and small stripes of purplish red on white ground. Degenerate stamens. Flowers early to mid-season. Leaves elliptic, small to medium size. Upright, vigorous growth. A chance seedling of Kochō-wabisuke, originated by Siichirō Sasai in 1983. From Okayama Prefecture.
