Kunyuan Hongyan （C. japonica）. New Breeder's Right No. 20240255 (National Forestry and Grassland Administration New Plant Variety Certificate No. 5377). Chinese Registration Number：CCRN2023004. It was originated by Shen Yunguang, Wang Zhonglang, Feng Baojun and Wang Xinrui from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A hybrid of Camellia japonica'Yae-hime' × 'Margaret Davis'. Small tree, half-open. Leaves obovate to elliptic, 7.5-11 cm long, 4-5.5 cm wide, apex acuminate to caudate, base cuneate, Leaves margins distinctly serrate, Leaves surface dark green, bent downwards arcuate. Flowers red, anemone form with 90-241 petals, the outer whorls are rounded and relatively flat, and the inner whorl petals are mostly petaloids, Flower size is 9-11 cm in diameter, and the pistils vestigial. Bloom season from December to January.

昆园红焰 (Camellia japonica 'Kunyuan Hongyan'). 新品种权号：20240255 (国家林草局植物新品种证书第5377号） . 中国茶花登录号： CCRN2023004。由中国科学院昆明植物研究所的沈云光、王仲朗、冯宝钧、王新蕊培育。红山茶‘八重姬’ב宽彩带’的杂交品种。小乔木，株型半开张。叶倒卵形至椭圆形，长7.5-11 厘米，宽4-5.5 厘米，先端渐尖至尾尖，基部楔形，叶缘锯齿明显，叶面深绿色，叶身下弯呈弓形。花红色，托桂型，花瓣90-241枚，外轮圆形，较平整，内轮花瓣大多由雄蕊瓣化而成；花径9-11 厘米；雌蕊退化。花期12月至翌年1月。
