Xiaoyue Hongyan

Xiaoyue Hongyan (C. japonica 'Huigui' X C. nitidissima). China Regn. #2021-347. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2021, No.11, p.57. It was Named by Huang Xiaona of Golden Camellia Park in Nanning City，registered by Huang Liandong, Huang Xiaona, Qi Ya, Jiang Changjie and Luo Yanying of the above park. A hybrid of C. japonica 'Huigui' X C. nitidissima. Shrub, branches pendulence, bark greyish-white,  buds reddish brown, tender branches reddish brown, hairy, and old branches brown and glabrous. Leaves oval, dark green on the front, light green on the back, shiny, medium thickness, narrow at the tip of the leaf and short tail tip, the base of the leaf broad cuneate, 7.2-8.6 cm long, 3.5-4.8 cm wide, glabrous, lmargins coarse teeth. Petiole0.6-0.8cm long and grows obliquely. Flower buds axillary or terminal, sepals covered with shingles, semicircular, yellow-green, 5-6 pieces, hairy; flower diameter 5.9-7.5cm, semi-double; petals thin, 9-11 pieces, round, petals apexmoderately folded, petal veins obvious, tpetals multi-colored, the outer ends of the petals  bluish white (RSH 157D) and the near base dark yellowish pink (RSH 45D), and the outermost petals  light bluish yellow (RSH 2D); stamens numerous in cylindrical, and nearly equal in height with pistil;  stigma deeply divided, ovary spherical, glabrous. Flowering from January to February.

晓月红颜Camellia‘Xiaoyue Hongyan’ 中国登录号：2021-347，《中国花卉园艺》2021年第11期57页。由南宁市金花茶公园的黄晓娜命名，黄连冬、黄晓娜、漆娅、蒋昌杰、罗燕英培育并登录。以品种‘回归’为母本，防城金花茶为父本的杂交后代中选育。灌木，植株呈垂枝型，树皮灰白色，嫩芽红棕色，嫩枝红棕色，有毛，老枝棕色，无毛。枝叶中等稠密。叶椭圆形，正面深绿色，背面浅绿色，叶面革质，有光泽，中等厚度，先端窄短尾尖，叶基宽楔形，长7.2-8.6cm，宽3.5-4.8cm，叶片无毛，叶缘粗齿状，叶柄长0.6-0.8cm，上斜着生。花芽腋生或顶生，萼片覆瓦状，半圆形，黄绿色，5-6片，有毛；花冠直径5.9-7.5cm，半重瓣型，花瓣薄，9-11片，圆形，花瓣顶端中度褶皱，花脉明显，花瓣复色，花瓣外端为为青白色（RSH 157D）近基部为浓黄粉色（RSH 45D），最外层花瓣为淡青黄色（RSH 2D），雄蕊多数，排列方式为筒型，无瓣化，雌雄蕊近等高，柱头深裂，子房球形，光滑无毛。花期1-2月。
