ACRS, Camellia News, 1995, No.135, p.11, Reg. No.441: Originated by Jason Hawke, Boonooroo, Carrara, Queensland, Australia. A chance seedling that first flowered 1987. A deep red (RHS.CC.46A-60A) formal double of 20 petals, 10 cm across x 5 cm deep. Flowers freely mid-season to late on an open, rapid growing bush. Leaves light green, glossy, ovate with serrate margins and acuminate apices, 10 cm long x 5 cm wide. Petals notched and fluted. Filaments in groups and flowers shed whole.
