Red Satin      (C. japonica)   ACS Registration #3117. Registered in 2019. This 14-year-old C. japonica chance seedling of 'Eleganis Miniata' first bloomed in2005. It was originated, registered and propagated by Pat B. Johnson of Cairo,Georgia.  BLOOM:The very large sized 12.7 cm x 7.6 cm single form flower is satin red.It has gold anthers and pale pink filaments. The long lasting bloom hasfluorescence, heavy petal texture, and consistent form and falls in one piece. PLANT: The plant habit is upright and dense. Thegrowth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses.LEAF: The dark green leaves average 8.9 cm x3.2 cm with low serration. BLOOM SEASON:Early to midseason.
