Berlèse, 1849, Annales de la Société Central d’Horticulture de France, vol.40, p.80: Flower 10 cm. across, ranunculi­form, full, silky flesh-rose. Petals in 7-8 rows, well disposed with perfect imbrication. Frères Noisette Nursery Catalogue, 1857, p.38 gives Schiavone and Il Robertii as synonyms; how­ever the colour given in the original descriptions is quite different and this is rejected. Originated in Italy.
