American Camellia Yearbook, 1956, p.64, Reg. No.285: A 15 year old seedling of Elegans; originated by Mrs E.R. Harlan, McComb, Mississippi, USA and flowered for the first time in 1947. Plant growth is upright, compact and medium with dark green, oval, crenate leaves. The flowers, 10 cm across, are radiant pink (No.137 Super Kemtone) in colour, with 27­35 petals; semi-double and early flowering.
