Pépinières Thoby, Carquefou, France, Plant List, 2003, p.18. Seedling of C. japonica ‘Ville de Nantes’ x C. japonica ‘Kon-wabisuke’, first flowering in 1984 and propagated from 1993. Flower: medium, single to semi-double, bright red to dark red. Leaf: oval with recurved apex and margin. Story: Its name is a homage to the ship Saint Philibert, which sank in 1931, killing more than 400 people and leaving only eight survivors. It was used to transport people between Nantes and Noirmoutier.
