Shades of Evening

Gerbing’s Azalea Garden Catalogue, 1941-1942: A new camellia from Middleton Place, (‘Middleton No.5’). A rose-like semi-double form with deep to dark red colouring. When fully opened the petaloids are intermingled with the stamens. There are 5 rows of outer petals. Leaves long and narrow, dark, glossy green. Late flowering. Originated in USA at Middleton Gardens, South Carolina.
