Shangzhi Qiumeigui

Shangzhi Qiumeigui (C. hiemalis 'Shishigashira' X C. fraterna). China Regn. #2020-313. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.12, p.57. This cultivar was bred by Feng Shucheng and Zhang Yali  and others of Shanghai Botanical Garden. It was crossed in December 2011 using C. sasanqua 'Shishigashira (hiemalis)' as the female parent and C. fraterna as the male parent. The hybrid blossomed for the first time in November 2018. The bracts and sepals arranged in a tile-like shape, ovoid, yellow-green or green, and hairy. Flower red (RHS 81-C), semi-double-petal type, mini to medium-sized flower, flower diameter 5.0～8-0cm, 15～20 petals, thin or medium petal thickness, slightly concave apex, ovate petals, few stamens , Stamens are clustered, part of anthers are petalized, pistil is higher than stamen, stigma is 3-lobed, ovary is hairy. The leaves are dark green, slightly shiny, 3.0-7.0 cm long, 1.0-3.0 cm wide, elliptical. The back of the leaf is densely hairy when it is young, and gradually falls off after maturity. It is hairy along the midrib, and the edge of the leaf is serrated with serrated intervals. 0.2cm, the leaf base is wedge-shaped, the tip is acuminate, the petiole is short, about 0.3cm, and it is hairy. The plant is shrub or small tree-like, half-opened, with reddish brown branches and vigorous growth. Flowering period is early to middle, from November to January in Shanghai area.

上植秋玫瑰 Camellia 'Shangzhi Qiumeigui' 中国茶花登录号：2020-313。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第12期57页。本品种由上海植物园奉树成、张亚利等培育，系2011年12月以茶梅(C. sasanqua)品种‘小玫瑰’为母本，毛花连蕊茶(C. fraterna)为父本，杂交而得，2018年11月首次开花。苞片覆瓦状排列，卵形，黄绿或绿色，被毛。花朵红色（RHS 81-C），半重瓣型，微型至中型花，花径5.0～8-0cm，花瓣15～20枚，花瓣厚度薄或中，先端微凹，花瓣卵形，雄蕊数量少，雄蕊簇生，部分花药瓣化，雌蕊高于雄蕊，柱头3浅裂，子房被毛。叶片深绿色，略具光泽，长3.0～7.0 cm，宽1.0～3.0cm，椭圆形，叶背幼时密被毛，成熟后逐渐脱落，沿中脉被毛，叶缘细齿状，锯齿间隔约0.2cm，叶基楔形，叶尖渐尖，叶柄短，约0.3cm，被毛。植株灌木或小乔木状，半开张，枝条红褐色，生长旺盛。花期早至中，上海地区11月-翌年1月。
