McCaskill Gardens Catalogue, 1962: Small, red and white, formal double. American Camellia Yearbook, 1965, p.246, Reg. No.702: SCCS, No.62-38 - A chance seedling originated by Paul Shepp, Pasadena, California, USA. Flowers are white with red and pink stripes, 5-7 cm across x 2.5 cm deep; a formal double that, when fully open, has a small tufted centre. Blooms mid-season to late. Plant is compact, upright and medium. Orthographic error: ‘Shep’s Boutonire’. Sports Shepp’s Boutonniere Blush, Shepps Boutonniere Red.
