Sophia de Kerhalast (Cx williamsii). European Reg. No 195. Originated by Pierre Rohou Saint-Pol-de-Léon, France, propagated by Hubert Roué Plouzévédé, France and Paul Goarant Cléder, France for the SBC (Société Bretonne du Camellia). Seedling of C. x williamsii ‘Citation’ by unkown pollen in 2008, first bloomed in 2015. Plant: growth habit upright – fastigate, growth rate medium, flowering: early to mid-season. Flower: medium,7-9 cm in diameter, semi-double, cup-shaped, 12-18 oboval and irregular petals, light silk pink to more colored to the edges, stamens in a flared column, few in number with white filaments. Leaf: oboval to elliptic medium, 6-9 cm x 2-3 cm in dept, dark green and leathery. Other data: Sophia is the first name of the breeder's daughter and Kerhalast is the name of the garden.
