[Characteristics] Shrub type, mesophyll, open posture, medium branching density, medium leaf type, leaf blade length 8.4 cm, width 3.3 cm, leaf blade medium oval, leaf blade bearing state upward. In Guilin area spring tea bud one leaf period in early to mid-March, the new buds and leaves light green, velvet medium, bud three leaves 9.3 cm long, 100 buds weight 56.2 grams. Spring tea bud two leaves biochemical samples containing tea polyphenols 16.0%, amino acids 5.0%, caffeine 3.5%, water leachate 46.49k suitable for green tea. Baked green tea, the appearance of tight and thin, the color of emerald green hair, the soup color of tender green and bright, tender fragrance high and long lasting, floral aroma is obvious, taste fresh and mellow back to the sweet. In Guilin, Guangxi, the first growth cycle mu yield of one bud and two leaves 275 kg of fresh leaves, than the control 'Fuding Dabaicha' yield reduction of 5%; the second growth cycle mu yield 296 kg, than the control 'Fuding Dabaicha' yield reduction of 4%. It is susceptible to tea leafhopper, resistant to tea anthracnose, cold resistance and drought resistance. 西山茶8号 (Camellia sinensis ‘Xishancha 8’). 陈亮等. 2024.《中国茶树品种资源志（上卷）茶树登记品种》第500-501页：【申请者】广西壮族自治区茶叶科学研究所。【育种者】王小云；谭少波；韦静峰；苏敏；庞月兰；刘诗诗；吴潜华；张凌云。【品种编号】非主要农作物品种登记号：GPD茶树（2021)450039。【品种来源】广西壮族自治区茶叶科学研究所从‘桂平西山茶’中单株选育而成。【特征特性】灌木型，中生种，树姿开张，分枝密度中等，中叶类，叶片长度8.4厘米，宽度3.3厘米，叶片中等椭圆形，叶片着生状态向上。在桂林地区春茶一芽一叶期在3月上中旬，新梢芽叶浅绿色，茸毛中等，一芽三叶长9.3厘米，百芽重56.2克。春茶一芽二叶生化样含茶多酚16.0%,氨基酸5.0%，咖啡碱3.5%，水浸出物46.49k适制绿茶。制烘青绿茶，外形条索紧细、色泽翠绿显毫，汤色嫩绿明亮，嫩香高长持久、花香明显，滋味鲜醇回甘。在广西桂林，第一生长周期亩产一芽二叶鲜叶275千克，比对照‘福鼎大白茶’减产5%；第二生长周期亩产296千克，比对照‘福鼎大白茶’减产4%。感茶小绿叶蝉，抗茶炭疽病，抗寒性和抗旱性强。【适宜种植区域及栽培技术要点】适宜广西茶区秋、冬季和春季雨水充足时种植。小绿叶蝉发生高峰期，适当采取防治措施。
